A project in Beacon represents one website you want to track. Everything — audits, keywords, competitors, backlinks — lives inside a project.
Set up in three steps
- Click Start free trial and create your account with an email address or Google sign-in.
- Follow the onboarding flow: enter your website's domain, pick your industry, and set your business location. Beacon uses these to judge which keywords and competitors matter for you.
- That's it — Beacon kicks off your first site audit automatically and starts building your dashboard.
Use your site's final address exactly as a browser shows it (with or without www). If your site redirects from one to the other, enter the destination.
What happens next
Your first audit usually finishes within a few minutes. From there, add the keywords you care about (Projects → your project → Keywords) and Beacon will start tracking where you rank on Google and how that changes over time.
